    LOCATION:

     

    U.S. Army Garrison Kwajalein Atoll (USAG-KA) is located in the Kwajalein Atoll, Republic of the Marshall Islands (RMI) approximately 2,136 nautical miles west-southwest of Honolulu, Hawaii.  Kwajalein Atoll is a crescent loop of coral islands whose attendant reef encloses an area of 1,100 square miles one of the world's largest lagoons.  The USAG-KA supports more than 1,400 residents, who are comprised of military personnel, Army civilians, contractor employees, and family members. These residents live on the islands of Kwajalein and Roi-Namur.

     

    SCOPE:

     

    The Emergency Department Nurse is responsible for providing triage patient care under the supervision of the Hospital Administrator and Chief Medical Officer.

     

    **This position is notional and contingent upon contract award. **

     

    All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.



    Required Skills

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

     

    • Associates in Nursing is required or Bachelors (preferred) from an accredited nursing program.
    • A minimum of three (3) years’ experience as a Nurse in Emergency Medicine
    • Valid state nursing license.
    • American Heart Association – Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • Proficient in speaking, writing and reading English.

     

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    Perform and/or provide direction and support for the following services:

     

    • Assist medical providers with medical procedures as allowed within licensed scope of work.
    • Intake and documentation of the patient’s medical history, prescribed medications and vital signs.
    • Assist with examinations and/or treatments. Report all changes in patient’s conditions to medical provider.
    • Administer all medications prescribed by medical provider and document within the patients EMR.
    • Perform venipuncture and I.V. therapy as approved by immediate supervisor.
    • Collect samples, specimens and cultures as required by provider orders.
    • Assist with daily triage, sick call, minor medical and surgical procedures.
    • Participate in meetings as required.
    • Comply with all applicable CHSi standards and guidelines.
    • Participate and advise in Mass Casualty Exercises/Events.
    • All Health Care Providers (HCPs) will document care delivered and follow up care required.
    • All services shall be provided in accordance with established standards, principles and ethics of the profession, applicable professional specialty organizations, and the high-quality standard for which CHSi is recognized.
    • Other duties as assigned.

     

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Requires the ability to be granted a Secret Clearance.
    • Must have a valid US Passport
    • Performs duties in a safe manner. Follows the corporate safety policy.
    • Participates in and supports safety meetings, training and goals.
    • Ensures safe operating conditions within area of responsibility.
    • Maintains a clean and orderly work area.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
    • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods of time.
    • May require bending, stooping and lifting up to 15 lbs.
