    Volunteer Internship, National Program and Outreach, Spring 2019 Department National Program and Outreach City New York State NY Overview CFRs volunteer internships give selected volunteer interns the opportunity to receive training in the area of foreign policy; as well as skills training in areas such as writing, research, and program planning. With more than one-third of its members based outside of New York and Washington, DC, the goal of the National Program and Outreach is to energize foreign policy discussions nationwide. The National Program supports and connects CFR members across the country. Outreach extends CFR resources to leaders in a cross-section of American life, including the academic community; religious leaders; state and local officials; and civic, nonprofit, and community leaders. The major responsibilities of this position will include (but are not limited to): Supporting Outreach strategy by assisting in the development of a web content strategy for department web pages and using a Content Management System (CMS) Update marketing lists, assemble data for tabulation and visualization Attending general CFR meetings and other programs on foreign policy issues, as time permits Assisting with other administrative duties for Outreach Initiatives Qualifications Undergraduate student majoring in international affairs, political science, education, or a related field Previous experience with graphics and websites; database, Photoshop, or CMS experience a plus General multi-tasking skills, attention to detail and positive attitude Ability to work in a pressured environment Excellent communication skills and research skills About CFR Founded in 1921, the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR) is a leading nonprofit membership organization, research center, and publisher, with headquarters in New York, an office in Washington, DC, and programs nationwide.
