    POSITION SUMMARY: The Senior Data Analyst, International Business Development will be responsible for supporting Kelley Blue Book businesses in multiple international markets. Senior Data Analyst will analyze datasets for use in current products as well as future products. Products include internal vehicle valuation software, ETL processes, dealer and consumer products. The Senior Data Analyst will be responsible for analysis, insights, and recommendations for data quality and dataset use based on market requirements. Insights will be shared with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. Clear and concise communication is required as well as the ability to create technical documents and business requirements.

    The selected candidate will be a strategic thinker with technical expertise around data, reporting, and analytical approaches. This is a hands-on analytical role in a fast-paced environment.

    POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Complete detailed dataset summary analyses that include, field density, unique values, counts, and data consistency scoring

    • Run analyses on medium to large datasets, datasets can range from a minimum of 2,000 records to over 2 million records.

    • Communicate dataset summaries with multiple internal/external stakeholders

    • Communicate and establish relationships with third party data vendors regarding dataset questions and/or data quality feedback

    • Create technical business requirements for software developers based on a complete understanding of business needs and data summary results

    • Clearly define scope of work and deliverables in the business requirements

    • Test thoroughly and validate development teams output based on business requirements

    • Facilitate discussions of relevant data topics to share updates with various stakeholders

    • Communicate task progress status and any potential delays that will have impact on the larger project

    • Be the subject matter expert for current dataset as well as internally developed software products

    • Work as a liaison between data end users and the software development team to troubleshoot any potential data issues that may arise

    • Support 3 different business market needs regarding software platform or data questions

    Qualifications:

    ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

    • Bachelors degree (B.A. / B.S.) from four-year college or university; or a masters degree with 2+ years of experience.
    • Minimum 5 years experience in a Data Analyst role or equivalent technical role
    • A major in economics, mathematics, statistics, business, or similar quantitative field is preferred
    • Automotive industry and automotive data experience is highly desired. (Vehicle configuration information, Model Year / Make / Model / Trim or Version)
    • Acute analytical abilities and attention to detail are essential for this position
    • Ability to work independently and formulate analysis plans with minimal supervision
    • Ability to plan small to large scale projects and meet project deadlines
    • Desire to work in a fast-paced environment where information must be digested quickly and decisions made immediately after
    • Strong written, verbal, and listening skills
    • Must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
    • Experience working with cross functional teams to deliver on large scale projects
    • Intermediate to Advanced SQL skills (Understanding of relational database theory and ability to write and understand complex SQL code)
    • Intermediate to Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (Vlookups, Pivots, Macros, VBA, External data import/exports)
    • Proficiency in additional Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint:

    NON-ESSENTIAL SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    • Experience working with International teams outside of the US is a plus
    • Software UAT testing is a plus
    • Experience with Business Intelligence software is a plus, ex. Microstrategy, Tableau, etc.
    • Understanding of Software Development Lifecycles including Agile methodologies is a plus
