    Tech Specialist - Wireless & Optical Network Job ID 554079BR Location Celebration, Florida, United States Business Disney Parks & Resorts Date posted Aug. 14, 2018 Job Summary: Enterprise Technology/Telecom is looking for an individual with strong technical and troubleshooting skills to support fiber-optic and wireless networks at Disney Parks and Resorts. The Wireless & Optical Network Technician will provide field support and be responsible for ongoing maintenance, break/fix, and configuration for GPON and wireless solutions across property. This individual should have a solid understanding of IP networking and telephony demonstrated through past examples. Responsibilities: * Provide onsite consultation to customers and ensure 24x7 operational support of GPON based Wi-Fi network to maintain SLAs and Disney standards * Provide hands-on support for wireless upgrades, installations, and emergency maintenance * Provide operational design input into new GPON deployments * Collaborate with other network engineering teams and service suppliers to provide wireless solutions * Conduct wireless RF surveys to deliver to business units * Perform and interpret fiber-optic test results for in-depth troubleshooting * Resolve routing issues and develop network solutions and configurations * Assist in troubleshooting and operational support of various IP devices * Provide level 2 support to triage optical and wireless connectivity issues including, but not limited to: hands on repair, RF Survey, fiber-optic testing, and Heat Map generation Basic Qualifications: * 5-8 years in the Telecommunications Industry * 3-5 yearsâ?? experience with GPON networks * 3-5 years network engineering experience * Strong knowledge of CCNA Wireless, Wi-Fi characteristics, and signal propagation * Solid understanding and experience with enterprise wireless support, sustainment, and implementation * Demonstrated ability to use various Wireless survey tools (AirMagnet, Ekahau, etc.) * Strong knowledge of GPON, Fiber-based networks, and OLT/ONT experience * Moderate experience with Cisco Prime, WCS, or NCS * Understanding of wireless authentication methods including 802.11x, EAP, RADIUS, etc. * Strong understanding of quality construction practices and jobsite safety * Extensive experience with VoIP technology * Advanced user of Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio * Passion for, and knowledge of Wireless systems and solutions * Proven success collaborating with a range of partners * Documentation experience with test results, maintenance plans, and network diagram Required Education * A degree in a technical related field, appropriate certifications, or equivalent work experience Preferred Education * Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Technology, or Computer Science * CCNA-Wireless or CCNP-Wireless certifications About Disney Parks & Resorts: Walt Disney Parks and Resorts are where dreams come true.
