What weâ??re looking forâ?¦ An Asset Specialist Intern who will be part of a small team digitizing an important archive collection. Intern will organize, inventory and process artwork, images and documents from archives. Responsibilities: You willâ?¦ * Organize, inventory and process a variety of elements from the archive, including artwork, images and other documents * Be responsible for research, collection, hierarchical organization, digital inventory and preservation of assets * Under general guidance, provide best practice options for assets * Perform Archival duties including the handling of original works of art * Perform research and provide reference materials * Contribute to the culture and community of the team Basic Qualifications: What you bring to the roleâ?¦ * Experience working in an archive, library, museum, gallery or historic location * Ability to work unsupervised * Ability to perform with a very high level of accuracy while executing detailed tasks * Ability to think creatively and contribute in a team environment * Diligent and effective worker with the ability to consistently deliver extremely high quality performance in short timeframes * Strategic and creative thinker * Willingness and ability to do physical labor (climb and work on a four step ladder, lift/move boxes, artwork and other stored items from storage facility to staging/work area and final disposition.) * Excellent communication skills * Proficiency in Photoshop, Excel, PowerPoint/Keynote Preferred Qualifications: * Experience handling original works of art * Working knowledge of artwork mediums * Working knowledge of databases and ability to apply knowledge of metadata and taxonomy * Experience with DAM (Digital Asset Management) systems and Metadata * Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and PowerPoint/Keynote * General Disney Theme Park knowledge preferred Required Education * Currently enrolled as a Junior or higher, or graduated within the past 6 months, from an accredited college/university, earning a degree in Archival Studies, Library Science, Information Studies, Museum Studies, Communications, Fine Arts, Art History, Graphic Design History and Archeology, Sociology, the Sciences and/or Anthropology or Architecture, Graphic Design or Visual Communication Additional Information: Materials Required: College transcripts (official or unofficial) - Please upload your transcript while completing the online application To upload this document: * Log into your dashboard at www.DisneyInterns.com * Click the second tab "Applications" * Select "Submitted Applications" * Click on the title of the position for which you would like to attach the transcript * Click the "Add Files" button * Under what do you want to add, select Transcript * Be sure your document is titled in this format: FirstName_LastName_Transcript Internship Eligibility: * Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within the past 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship * Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program. * Must be at least 18 years of age * Must possess unrestricted work authorization * Must provide full work availability * Must provide own transportation to/from work * Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months) Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are January 2019 through March 2019.
