We utilize the Cloud to manage the Cloud. Our micro-serviced applications run on Docker Containers at AWS and utilize serverless architectures in many of our automated processes. We code in NodeJs and deploy via CI/CD processes on Gitlab. Disney Seattle is a large, flourishing tech-focused office, where teams develop internet applications and services for all of the major domestic and international businesses across Disney. The office is located in the heart of downtown Seattle, near convenient public transport hubs, easy access to ferries, buses, and situated across from the iconic Seattle library. -Responsibilities:A Day in the Life On any given day, we could be interacting with Disney Studios, Parks and Resorts, Lucas Arts, Pixar, and any of dozens of other segment of the Walt Disney Company. This position will focus on improving the reliability of the automation code and processes by creating code to validate the code. This is an engineering position, not a tester, and the successful candidate will write code in JavaScript on NodeJS interacting with a multitude of APIs and services, including AWS APIs, Azure and GCP. -Extend and improve the suite of automated tests -Work with the team to understand new features and products -Engineering with modern practices (CI/CD, linting, etc.) -Basic Qualifications:What we are looking for -Experience with Javascript and NodeJS -Experience with RESTful APIs -A basic understanding of cloud computing -Preferred Qualifications: -An understanding of AWS services and IAM resources -An understanding of CI/CD practices -Required Education -Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last six (6) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program -Junior or Senior of Computer Science degree, Masters student, or equivalent achieved or in progress -Additional Information: -The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2019 - August/September 2019 -Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship -About Direct-to-Consumer and International: Comprised of Disneys international media businesses and the Companys various streaming services, the Direct-to-Consumer and International segment aligns technology, content and distribution platforms to expand the Companys global footprint and deliver world-class, personalized entertainment experiences to consumers around the world.
