    This full-time role is about making an impact on people’s lives and the future of clean energy. You will leverage your skills and experience to be part of an innovative team and make a difference for our customers. As a BWR Field Service Technician in Lynchburg, VA (remote work will also be considered), you will be part of the proven team in the Outage Services Business Line in the Installed Base Business Unit. BWR Reactor Services specializes in full scope refueling outage services which include, but is not limited to reactor disassembly/reassembly, fuel handling, under vessel activities, and critical lifts. Work is highly complex and procedurally driven, consisting primarily of tool handling and equipment operation inside containment, in/around the cavity. Your work will include:

    • Installs, troubleshoots, assembles and disassembles, repairs and maintains tooling and equipment at customer sites (may include equipment associated with refueling and inspecting and maintaining nuclear reactors and components).
    • Conducts a variety of complex field tasks including, but not limited to operating specialized equipment, taking measurements, compiling data, and performing without error in high stress environments.
    • Develops procedures, problem reports, job hazard analyses, and field schedules.
    • Participates in planning and executing projects and may be responsible for pre-outage preparations.
    • May provide input to training materials and may conduct training.
    • Responsible for directing technicians which includes on the job training, conducting pre-job briefs, defining task requirements, performance management and coaching, documenting performance, managing conflicts between coworkers, and ensuring safety and compliance of individuals and plant equipment.
    • Complies with all applicable safety and health rules including personal dose compliance.
    • Works flexible hours and shifts, as required, to ensure timely service.
    • Requires travel to a variety of remote job sites and unescorted nuclear access (includes background check, psychological exam, and drug screen).

    Your Total Rewards Package

    The range of base salary for the position is between $42.00 - $54.33 per hour, and may also include annual incentives, performance bonuses and benefits. Please note that the base salary range is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.

    JOB SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES:

    • 5 – 7 years management experience in a production environment, preferably in the food processing industry, involving efficiency improvement/monitoring, and quality management.
    • 3-5 years as a department manager.
    • Must have excellent computer skills and a strong understanding of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, including the ability to, on a regular basis perform pivot tables, graphing and formula creation.
    • Strong knowledge of food plant operations in terms of both productivity and cost drivers.
    • Strong subject matter expertise in operational problem identification, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement
    • Excellent oral and written communications skills, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage, motivate, and train people.
    • Experience working with FDA, GFSI, and Federal/State regulatory bodies.
    • Must have knowledge of applicable safety and quality regulations.
    • Bilingual in both Spanish and English is preferred.
    • Dynamic, hands-on ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented food-processing environment.
    • Must have the ability to make decisions, maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand, and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
    • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, trends, information, and KPI metrics that lead to increased product quality, reduced waste, profit maximization and customer satisfaction.

    PHYSIC _ AL REQUIREMENTS:_

    • Ability to climb stairs, spend a majority of time standing and walking, and maneuver around an array of equipment. Able to work in a cold (35*), wet and noisy environment.

    WORK HOUR & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Flexibility to work both a variety of shifts and hours required.
    • Ability to travel as needed although minimum travel is typically required.
