TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is a private par-70, 7,139-yard course located in Montgomery County, MD, less than 20 miles from the nation’s capital. As a PGA TOUR owned and operated championship golf course, formerly known as TPC Avenel, this course was a familiar stop on the PGA TOUR for several years. The golf course enjoyed a historic renovation in 2008 under the direction of PGA TOUR Design Services and the result is a drastically different layout which showcases the natural rolling terrain, bentgrass tees, fairways and greens, fescue grasses, and Scottish-style bunkering.

TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm is currently seeking an ASSISTANT GOLF COURSE SUPERINTENDENT I to assist in the daily oversight of the golf course maintenance operation.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Assist with recruiting, hiring, scheduling and performance management of employees
• Making daily golf course maintenance assignments in accordance with agronomic/turf management plan 
• Managing a crew of operators
• Ensuring proper pesticide/fertilizer application and calibration
• Assist Director of Golf Course Maintenance with maintaining budgets

QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING:

• 2 or 4-year turf degree
• 2-4 years previous golf course maintenance management experience
• Prior supervisory experience with a proven record to train, coach and positively influence the team
• Computer and organizational skills
• Ability to train/supervise a crew of up to 30 on a daily basis
• Strong attention to detail, passion for excellence and a great attitude
• Familiarity with cool season grasses in the Mid Atlantic region preferred
