    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

     

     

     The Process Improvement Engineer II analyzes and documents processes. Collaborates with Business Owners and Engineers to gain understanding of processes through information gathering and interviews. Takes the lead on selecting an approach to managing issues, risks and requirements; deciding how to monitor and report on process improvements. Works with stakeholders to help them understand their requirements within the scope of a project. Ensures that the project team and stakeholders stay in agreement on project scope. Define business needs; identify gaps in current capabilities that stop those needs from being met. Analyzes requirements for projects to determine types of technical documentation needed. Develops and writes material for policies, procedures, and work instructions related to operational and system processes. Ensure accuracy and completeness of technical documentation.

     

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

     

    • Provide analysis of system and/or process (re) design and flow documentation for business projects/initiatives. Following continuous improvement life cycle:
      • INITIAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT/ ROOT CAUSE ANALYSIS to define and address existing problems or provide design for initiatives/projects
      • PRESENT ASSESSMENT and recommendations to manager and/or business owner
      • (RE)DESIGN of system/process including detailed level flows and documented solutions. Submitted appropriate change request for implementation.
      • FINAL DELIVERABLE Recommendations on process/procedures, metrics for monitoring areas/processes and measures of success.
      • FOLLOW UP with improvements of area/process from baseline measurements. Suggest additional changes and corrections.
    • Analyze the root causes of real- time existing issues, document all related issues, with the corresponding causes, estimations and solutions. Responsible for notifying management and appropriate departments of the identified issues, and providing feasible solutions or required changes for implementation.
    • Review, document, and maintain existing operational processes and flows. Work with management towards improvement of mentioned processes.
    • Research processes with Engineers and Business Owners, including gathering and sorting source and background materials. Collaborates with Engineers and Business Owners during the requirements gathering and analysis phase to gain understanding of the process(es).

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree required in Industrial Engineering, Management Information Systems or similar field.
    • 3+ years of process improvement and/or business analysis experience.   A combination of education and experience in the field may also be considered.
    • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Visio). 
    • Advanced knowledge of SQL (creating queries and views).

    • Bachelor’s degree with 14 years direct experience as a DoD contracting professional or a master's degree with 11 years direct experience as a DoD contracting professional
    • US Citizen with a current DoD Secret security clearance
