OUR VISION: Election Systems and Software will provide products and services of exceptional quality and value to maintain voter confidence and enhance the voting experience. INTERNSHIP PROGRAM DESCRIPTION: The ES&S Summer Interns will work 30-40-hour weeks, Monday Friday during normal business hours. While contributing to department initiatives, interns will also engage in educational experiences that prepare them for the work world after completing their studies. Bi-weekly sessions include Getting Your First Job, Preparing for Interviews, Understanding Benefits, How to Assess Workplace Culture, and The Importance of Networking. EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND: Undergraduate or graduate students in Computer Science, Network Technology or related fields will be considered for this internship. SKILLS REQUIRED: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with ability to communicate with diverse populations Professional attitude and appearance. Experience in Technical, Network Technology and Customer Support environment Well organized with attention to detail and ability to carry out tasks independently Ability to meet deadlines Self-starter with sense of urgency EXPERIENCE OR SPECIAL SKILLS DESIRED: Knowledge of Networking and troubleshooting computer systems Experience with MS Operating Systems, including Windows Server Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking Cisco ASA firewall configurations Advanced understanding of network configuration SFTP and VPN based data transmission Technical Documentation JOB FUNCTIONS: This position is responsible for the installation and configuration of ES&S Election Management System computers and networks. This position also acts as Tier 3 support related to issues among the full array of Election Management Systems. This role requires a subject matter expert (SME) with respect to operating systems, server and network hardware, application interfaces and system security among company products. Develops, installs, configures, supports, and documents election management systems and networks as well as other system components in compliance with jurisdiction certification requirements. Supports customer Voting Systems by troubleshooting and providing assistance for escalated Tier 3 technical issues. Provide excellent customer service to ES&S customers; both external and internal Research, testing, and documentation of special projects. Travel to customer locations around the U.S. for on-site network installations.
