Job Description
Infina is looking for a Technical Writer to help produce a variety of written materials to support our customer within the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). This individual will have the ability to translate complex, technical concepts and communicate the information in a way that is engaging and easily understandable.
This position is onsite in McLean, VA, however, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all positions are temporarily remote. Once we return to work the candidate will be required to work from McLean, VA.
Duties
Research, document and edit content for the web, training packages, communications and outreach, technical documentation, marketing materials and more
Author and review technical documents for accuracy and adherence to defined standards
Follow protocols for knowledge creation and publish within recommended systems and timelines
Develop program documentation for security requirements for new systems
Produce and distribute tutorials to help end-users use a variety of applications
Collaborate with SME’s for additional clarifications, review, and content capture
Research and collect usability feedback from SME’s, designers, and end-users
Establish, plan, and administer writing policies and procedures in accordance with governmental policies and procedures
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Must have a degree in English, Journalism, History, Political Science or related field
Must have at least fifteen (15) years of relevant experience
Experience with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Office tools
Ability to translate technical concepts and information for various audiences at different levels of technical literacy and produce accurate, strategic written materials under tight deadlines within a dynamic, team-based environment
Creative skills and usage of photographs, drawings, diagrams, animation, and charts that increase users’ understanding
Excellent written skills in English
US Citizen or Green Card Holder
