We are currently seeking innovative research interns with a passion for technology to develop wireless systems at our location in Redmond, WA. This role is focused on topics around antenna, Radio-Frequency (RF) system, communication systems (PHY/MAC) and networking as well as novel wireless technologies to support wireless development needs taking VR and AR to the next level. The role will also include both system level analysis/simulation and lab responsibilities working through what aspects are critical to achieve the performance goals. RESPONSIBILITIES * Development of computational tools to perform advanced simulations * Development of methods to experimentally validate simulations results and hypothesis * Establish prototypes that demonstrate proof of concept in an experimental system architecture * Work cross functionally with other disciplines to development experimental setups and prototype concepts MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * Pursuing a PhD degree in the field of Physics, Applied Physics, Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering, or a related field * Currently enrolled in a full time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship * 1+ years experience with experimental and laboratory work (i.e. demonstrated ability to construct proof-of-concept systems and to evaluate performance) * 2+ years experience with scientific programming languages, such as Matlab, Python, Mathematica, C/C++ or similar * Good knowledge and understanding in various areas, such as digital signal processing, communication systems, RF systems, antenna design and networking * Good interpersonal skills, ability to work cross-functionally / cross-group collaboratively * Ability to obtain work authorization in the United States in 2017 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Demonstrated ability to design, model and analyze complex systems * Proven track record of achieving significant results as demonstrated by first-authored publications
