The mission of the Facebook Risk and Payments team is to enable anyone, anywhere to be able to pay and be paid with confidence. This can mean different things across our many payments products - from providing support to advertisers who need help paying their bill, helping charities onboard to receive donations, to identifying and resolving fraudulent games purchases. Weâ??re looking for a rising second-year MBA student to spend a summer on the team, responsible for working on any and all operations related to Payments and Risk Management on Facebook. Who are you? You are someone who loves "big data", are detail-oriented, and are incredibly patient sorting through analytics. You approach problems as if they were opportunities, not challenges. You have business strategy skills to build the solutions necessary to ask the right â??what ifâ?? and â??whyâ?? questions and find the right answers, especially if that requires the engagement of other cross-functional teams and experts. Responsibilities * Your summer assignment will be pivotal to the improvement of our state-of-the-art operations platform to keep fraud off of Facebook and enhance the experience of the payers, advertisers, and partners on our site. Our needs are constantly evolving and weâ??ll present you with a choice of projects which play to your strengths. * Apply your expertise in quantitative analysis, data mining, and the presentation of data to see beyond the numbers and provide experience, risk, and product insights. * Drive key performance metrics such as fraud losses, payment success rates, and support efficiency. * Create, design, and execute experiments that pave the way for new approaches. * Work with internal/external partners to develop creative solutions. * Create examples, prototypes, demonstrations to help cross-functional teams understand your work. Minimum Qualifications * Currently enrolled in United States accredited Masters or MBA program with graduation dates between December 2019 and August 2020 * Proficient at defining, utilizing and communicating performance metrics. * 2+ years experience doing quantitative analysis. * Experience manipulating large data sets in SQL or equivalent, and drawing actionable insights from data. * Experience in at least one scripting language (PHP, Python, Perl) or Haskell a plus. * Strong communication and presentation skills. * Permanent U.S. work authorization required as company sponsorship is not available We're proud to be the #1 Best Place to Work on Glassdoor's Employees' Choice awards.
