Facebook Reality Labs in Pittsburgh is looking for exceptional interns to help create a revolution in virtual reality through photorealistic telepresence, the ability to interact with anyone, anytime, anywhere. We have made some important advances, but it will take a team with a wide spectrum of skills to fully realize this goal. The ideal candidate is pursuing a Bachelors or Masters in computer science with a demonstrated interest in computer vision, graphics, high performance computing, machine learning, robotics, or other related topics. This internship has a duration of twelve (12) weeks. Come join us as we make photorealistic telepresence in VR and AR a reality! RESPONSIBILITIES * Develop high quality, robust, and reusable C++ software * Collaborate with Research Scientists and Software Engineers across multiple disciplines to develop and optimize computer vision, machine learning, and visualization pipelines * Contribute as a member of a development team, and participate in regular activities such as status meetings, and project planning * Present results to team and leadership MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS * In the process of obtaining a Bachelors degree or higher in the field of computer science, computer engineering, mathematics, or related fields * Must be currently enrolled in a full-time degree program and returning to the program after the completion of the internship/co-op * Must be available for a 3-month internship between January 1, 2019 and December 31, 2019 * Experience with C++ * Experience developing in a Linux environment * Interpersonal experience: cross-group and cross-culture collaboration * Must obtain work authorization in country of employment at the time of hire, and maintain ongoing work authorization during employment PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS * Experience developing software for computer vision, computer graphics, high performance computing, machine learning or robotics applications * Experience with Python or other scripting languages * Experience with OpenCV, CUDA, Caffe2, TensorFlow, or PyTorch * Experience with software optimization techniques * Experience with software development practices such as source control, code reviews, unit testing, debugging, and profiling * Demonstrated engineering experience via an internship, work experience, coding competitions, or widely used contributions in open source repositories (e.g., GitHub) * Knowledge of structure from motion, numerical optimization, 3D reconstruction, image processing, computational geometry, simultaneous localization and mapping, or sensor fusion
