Safety & Emergency Prepared Summer Intern - MGT The Emergency Preparedness & Safety section is seeking a summer intern. The work will include participation in research and analysis associated with occupational safety and health regulations related to the Board's existing occupational programs. The intern will write evaluation reports summarizing research and documenting compliance issues in need of revision, make recommendations on OSH program revisions based upon industry trends, and assist in drafting program documents to improve deficiencies in existing plans, policies and procedures. The work will also include participation in workplace surveys of facility shops to identify common workplace hazards and corresponding environmental, occupational, health, and safety regulations. This will include analysis of workplace hazards in comparison to OSHA regulations, providing safety related training presentations, attending health and safety team meetings, and research of occupational standards and regulations. The intern will write evaluation reports documenting compliance, non-compliance and make recommendations, write program documents identifying roles and responsibilities in areas such as hearing conservation, respiratory protection, confined space, etc. The intern will actively participate in biweekly meetings of Safety & Emergency Preparedness staff and will assist with routine paperwork, record keeping, and other administrative tasks in support of the section functions.
