Spring Editorial Internship - Running Press Editorial Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Running Press Book Publishers in Philadelphia is seeking interns for their editorial department during the 2019 spring season. As an Editorial Intern at Running Press, you will assist the editorial staff in both the Adult, Kids, and Miniature Editions imprints. You will have the opportunity to work closely with seasoned professionals and gain hands-on professional experience as you own day-to-day tasks and help with special projects. What you will work on: * Review book proposals and write reader's reports * Research comparable works * Preform administrative duties, including book mailings * Work with editorial assistant, editors, and editorial directors to write and proofread marketing copy and other materials * Attend and contribute in editorial and creative meetings Ideal Candidate: * A current college or graduate student interested in exploring a career in book publishing (relevant major in writing, publishing, English, journalism, or communications is preferred) * Must be able to work a minimum of 16 hours per week; maximum of 20 hours per week * Self-starter with strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills * Enthusiastic and excited about children's books as well as non-fiction publishing in genres like lifestyle, cookbooks, and humor * Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel This is a paid internship that will run on a semester basis for 12 weeks starting on February 4th.
