We are looking for an experienced Business Data Analyst focused on data-driven storytelling to join the Intuit data team to support and be a thought partner with our QuickBooks communications team. This person is a master of digging into data and seeing the story through the numbers. If you have a background in data-based journalism, data analysis, economic analysis, data visualization, or data-based communications, this is a good role for you. To turn data into meaningful narratives for journalistic outlets, government entities, and other types of content creators (bloggers, influencers, etc.), you’ll need to be a whiz with numbers, know your way around the elements of a good story, and have a bias for action in creating compelling, shareable and visual data stories.

What you'll bring

• A degree or equivalent work experience in economics, finance, statistics, political science or other quantitative subject areas
• Experience with and a proven track record of leveraging analytics to drive significant business impact.
• Advanced SQL skills and proficiency in visualization tools such as Tableau, QlikSense, Dash and others
• Knowledge of statistical methods, techniques and formulas to test and determine the reliability and soundness of results
• Exceptional analytical skills , strong business acumen and a drive for continuous learning
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence decision makers and build consensus with teams
• Experience with R, Python and Hive

How you will lead

• Work independently and collaboratively with other scientists, engineers, designers, UX researchers, and product managers on complex projects that deliver value to Intuit
• Possess strong internal communication skills to present a narrative using actionable data-driven insights.
• Produce zero defect output by championing clean and accurate data, surface surprising insights and create interactive graphics
• Leverage internal and external data to synthesize nuggets of insights that explain underlying trends in the small business ecosystem.
• Identify opportunities for automation to drive scalability, improve efficiency and productivity of the broader team.
• Document the learnings and findings from all analysis and share data products with others inside of Intuit
