    COLORADO AVALANCHE COMMUNICATIONS INTERN Kroenke Sports & Entertainment 26 reviews - Denver, CO 80204 Internship POSITION: COMMUNICATIONS INTERN, COLORADO AVALANCHE HOURS: 29 HOURS PER WEEK, FLEXIBLE TERM: 2017-18 NHL SEASON REPORTS TO: EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF MEDIA SERVICES RESUME DEADLINE: AUGUST 18, 2018 GENERAL OVERVIEW: The Communications/Media Relations Internship provides an opportunity to learn and assist with the day-to-day operations of the Colorado Avalanche Communications department, as well as work with the hockey operations staff. This internship position will specifically focus on the topic of media relations, team website and team operations. MINIMUM RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists in the daily production and distribution of the press clippings and gathering all Colorado Avalanche/NHL stories from local, national and international news services. Assists in the distribution of the Colorado Avalanche media/photo credentials for all home games. Assists in the set-up of the Pepsi Center press box for all home games. Assists in day-to-day content of the Avalanches official website. Duties include writing, gathering audio and shooting video. Assists in writing and editing for the Avalanches official game program. Helps with coordination of press conferences and team events. Provides general support for the hockey operations staff, including executives, coaches and scouts. Other duties as assigned. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills Ability to work with deadlines in a fast-paced environment with media, players, coaches and multiple departments. Good working knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software skills. Willingness to learn and contribute to team goals. Strong professional presence. Detail-oriented. Accountability. Ability to work independently. General knowledge of social media platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Snapchat. Extensive knowledge of all Microsoft Windows programs. General knowledge of video shooting and editing.
