    In this newly created virtual role, we are seeking a MILITARY RELATIONS PROGRAM MANAGER to develop and nurture the relationships between Sonepar USA and our Military/Veteran communities.  In this role, you will oversee all Talent Acquisition military related activities.  You will work cross functionally to design and deliver mid-to-long range strategies that establishes Sonepar USA as a Military employer of choice.

     

    WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Establish Sonepar as a Military Employer of Choice, managing and growing our employment brand and recruitment presence (careers webpage, external branding, social media, etc.)

    • Develop, implement, and oversee the organization’s Military rotational development program.

    • Partner with key stakeholder across the business to identify and develop professional opportunities for transitioning personnel into the distribution industry

    • Develop and execute key programs with military groups, training initiatives, and special events

    • Align, search, and match military talent through recruiting efforts for core and critical hiring needs

    • Define and maintain a method of reporting to track hiring, attraction, and retention trends

    • Establish project schedules, monitoring milestones, and providing effective progress updates to all stakeholders

    • Create and manage an annual calendar of military recruitment events and oversee all logistical coordination and implementation

    • Educate Hiring Managers on the benefits of hiring candidates with military backgrounds

     

    WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

    • You understand and have a pulse on what is happening in our armed forces as well as the human resources community—specifically Talent Acquisition. You believe that the most important asset in an organization is the people and you’re the one that knows how to connect military talent to Sonepar USA openings.

     

    WHAT IS NEEDED TO SUCCEED:

    • BA/BS degree and /or comparable relevant industry experience
    • 2 years of experience recruiting military/veteran personnel for the private sector
    • Honorable military service, experience recruiting from the military and veteran population is preferred
    • Prior experience in developing, planning, and managing military/veteran recruitment strategies and programs is a must
    • Have a passion for recruiting and sourcing diverse candidate groups including but not limited to Veterans
    • Solid verbal and written communication skills
    • Ability to speak and present in large and small groups
    • Strong hiring manager influencing skills with the ability to understand manager's hiring needs, make recommendations and coach managers to make the best top talent decision
    • The ability to work with a broad team of professionals, understanding their needs and preferences, and strategizing support elements to their requirements is a must-have
    • Technology savvy including social media and process mapping
    • Experience with SAP Recruiting and/or ATS (Applicant Tracking Systems) is a plus
    • Ability to travel 35% across the United States

    Required Skills Required Experience

  • Qualifications
    1. Knowledge of computer keyboard and 10 key touch, ability to type at least 40 words per minute.
    2. Knowledge of computerized practice management systems and other computerized systems (Microsoft office programs and electronic health records systems).
    3. Demonstrates excellent telephone management skills.
    4. Knowledge of ICD-10 CM and CPT coding systems.
    5. Superb organizational & prioritization skills.
    6. Ability to meet crucial time parameters as it relates to patient care.
    7. Ability to independently identify and solve problems.
    8. Detail oriented.
    9. Excellent customer and interpersonal skills; strong liaison skills.
    10. Demonstrates strong compassion for the specific patient population.
