Intern DESCRIPTION In teams of two, the Intern will perform field data collection with the use of GPS hand held equipment and cameras to gather, record, and document approximately 8,000 data points across the entire City of San Bernardino streetlight network. Collected information will be downloaded into and organized filing system within a database. This is a project specific time sensitive assignment. RESPONSIBILITY Travel by car and by foot throughout the city of San Bernardino to predetermine data points for GPS recordings and photo taking Return trips to the office for data download under the direction of an Engineer Post processing in office using Excel spreadsheet database to accurately edit information collected in field Streamline the data gathering process to maximize efficiency without compromising accuracy Work safely and in strong collaboration in a team of two tasked with the same goal in the field PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS Enrolled and pursuing a B.S. in Civil Engineering at an accredited university or college is required Proficiency with the MS Windows Platform (Excel, Word, Explorer file systems) is required Strong technical English writing ability is required Strong organizational and communication skills are required Valid California Drivers license and viable personal transportation is required (mileage reimbursement) Prior exposure to Civil Design or Construction Plan and an understanding of As-build edits is preferred **Primary Location: **US-CA-San Diego **Work Locations: ** **Organization: **Michael Baker International **Job Type: **Internship
