As a Spectrum Intern, youll be essential to two teams your respective department and your Intern peer group. Partner with other accomplished and dedicated interns on research and cross-functional projects. Youll have an opportunity contribute real value and meaning to the larger organization. Department and team-focused projects account for about 80% of your schedule. Youll spend the other 20% on professional development sessions and networking activities, including the Kickoff Conference on May 29 and 30, webinars, community service, and final presentations. As part of a peer community, youll contribute to cross-functional group projects, and should be ready to take on new projects as they come up. What you can expect in this role Spectrum Enterprise Data Products has an expansive portfolio of Product Development programs, spanning a variety of data transport technologies and services. The 2019 Summer Intern: Project Coordinator will be engaged and immersed in programs related to Ethernet Services, Internet Services, Wireless Services, Managed Services, Software Defined Wide Area Network and New Virtual Services. The role will be a key contributor, providing significant support in the areas of program management tools and process optimization, product requirements tracking and traceability, and establishing inter-departmental meetings with Data Product's business partners. Primary deliverables will include, but are not limited to: 1. Managing program collaboration sites to ensure consistent content and updates 2. Partnering with incumbent Program Managers to review and optimize JIRA Scrum Boards and analyze Scrum vs Kanban, then make a recommendation on which would make for a "best practice" approach. 3. Ensuring the timely and accurate documentation of meeting minutes, action items and owners, and next steps for each of the assigned programs. 4. Collaborate with Product Development Product Owners to review and analyze Program Charters, then identify and recommend areas for improvement. 5. Successful interaction with internal and external stakeholders, building rapport and establishing credibility as a member of the Data Product team. The 2019 Summer Intern: Project Coordinator will receive mentoring during the course of the 10-week engagement, which will hone in on technical and soft skills improvements. Weekly one-on-one sessions will be scheduled with department leadership, in which the Project Coordinator will illustrate successful completion of deliverables, express any roadblocks that stand in the way of their success, and receive carefully curated guidance on next steps and areas of improvement. There will be ongoing support from Program Management team, as well as the rest of the Data Product greater team. Our goal is to ensure that the experience is challenging and rewarding.
