Our team strikes the perfect balance of content thats smart and funny so that our readers know everything they need to know to navigate a fast-moving culture, whether thats up-to-date information on political events, cultural developments, fashion trends, or the latest scientific breakthroughs. As an intern on the social media team, you will be responsible for supporting the social media editors with day-to-day social tasks across platforms including Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Snapchat. The ideal schedule for this position is Monday - Friday from 11am-4pm, although that is flexible. Job Responsibilities Help manage Instagram feeds for @vulture , @thecut , @nymag , and @grubstreet Create visual assets (ex: gifs, quote cards) for all social platforms as needed Attend and actively contribute to brainstorm meetings Assist with story aggregation and curation for all platforms Assist the SEO editor in optimizing stories for search Maintain other responsibilities as needed Role Requirements Currently enrolled in a 4-year undergrad program, preferably Experience with social media platforms Basic knowledge of Photoshop, video editing, and gif-making New York Media is a place where you can be yourself and make an impact.
