Field Engineer Interns in this role may beassigned to a single location, a set of locations, or geographical territoryperforming all support functions per contractual or stated obligations. Theyare responsible for maintaining customer relationships resulting in highcustomer satisfaction. They understand customer sense of urgency, maintainappropriate responsiveness to assure progression toward issue resolution, andmake timely updates in Oracle issue tracking systems to assure delivery continuity. Employee must comply with customer specific policiesregarding site access and IT operational practices and have a current/valid drivers license. In this role the veteran intern may be required to: · Providepost-sales Oracle product support on customer premises following providedinstructions to resolve product issues. Coordinate with customer representatives to assure compliance withcustomer-specific IT practices and schedule. Meet Oracle service levelcommitments · PerformOracle product installations on customer premises per product specificationsand Oracle installation procedures. Coordinate with customer representatives to assure compliance withcustomer-specific IT practices and schedule · Deliveradditional on-site chargeable services, such as: equipment moves, re-certifications,de-installs, decommissions, ACS Services and Time and Materials based services followingprovided instructions · Managespare parts, includes: ordering,handling, replacing, completing parts debrief, returning spare parts andexception processes · Managecustomer relationships. Participate in customer discussions as appropriateincluding meeting attendance, email responsiveness, and phone calls · Completeaccurate reporting of Customer Supporting activities in GSI as perpolicies and update timely as required · Confirmservice request accuracy (system location / address, system identity, componentpart numbers, etc.) · Complete 100% of the Mandatory training and Producthardware and Software training as assigned. · Participatesin 24x7 coverage rotations (on-call), **work shift hours as required, and travel within service territoryas required · Informcustomers of current firmware levels on the Library and tape storage productsto ensure customers are at the latest current level to help eliminate futurecustomer issues Required Skillsand Experience: · MUST BE US Veteran transitioning from activeservice · 0-2 years relevant work experience in a customersupport services environment resolving technical problems on customer Hardwareand Software infrastructure · Proven customer management support skills, withthe ability to communicate technical updates and relevant diagnosticinformation · Written communication skills to document actionsand problem resolution · Ability to remain focused under pressure · Employee must comply with customer specificpolicies regarding site access and IT operational practices and have or able toobtain a Security Clearance Certificationsas required _ _ Preferred Education andExperience: · Associates degree in Computer Science,Electrical Engineering or related field is preferred · CompTIA A+: Preventative maintenance, basicnetworking, installation, troubleshooting and communication skills · CompTIA Linux+ Powered by LPI: Linuxinstallation, system architecture, GNU and UNIX commands, and user interfacesand desktops Knowledge, Skills andAbilities: · Proven forward thinker for successfully drivingchange · Critical thinker and solution provider · Work independently in a team environment · Ability to work well under pressure on multipleprojects simultaneously while properly adjusting priorities as needed · Ability to diagnose and solve very complexissues or know when to engage outside assistance · Candidate must have strong interpersonal andcommunication skills About the Company: Oracle remainsthe gold standard for database technology and applications in enterprisesthroughout the world: With annual revenues greater than US$37.7 billionand more than 430,000 customers including 100 of the Fortune 100Oracle is aglobal provider of enterprise cloud computing.
