Summer 2019 * June 3rd through August 23rd * June 17th through September 6th Job Description: Pandora is seeking an Economist Intern for our Advertising Science team. The position is for the summer of 2019. In this role, you will do research that will provide long-term value to the Advertising business at Pandora. Areas of interest include measuring advertising effectiveness, optimizing Pandoras marketing spend, measuring the impact of advertising on consumer listening behavior, setting prices for various types of advertising, and market design for digital audio advertising. The summer internship often consists of applying novel analysis methodologies to one of our ongoing field experiments with the hope that it will be published in the economics or marketing literatures. Requirements: * Pursuing PhD degree in Economics, Statistics or related quantitative field * Experience with: R, Python (scientific libraries), or other scientific computing language * Excellent communication skills with both technical and nontechnical audiences Recommended: * Background in statistics and experimental design * Familiarity with market design and/or matching theory * Familiarity with Hadoop * Familiarity with SQL queries * Applied research &/or design and execution of large-scale quantitative experiments and analyses Pandora is committed to diversity in its workforce.
