  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The Copy Editor is responsible for proofreading marketing material and collaborating with the creative team to deliver flawlessly executed work to clients on behalf of the agency. This role will focus primarily on email and mobile (SMS text & push notifications), and may involve editorial support on client presentation decks, direct mail, internal newsletters and other cross-promotional efforts.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Edit and proofread content for spelling, grammar and punctuation
    • Develop client-specific style guides to ensure consistent brand style and voice
    • Fact-check information, rewrite copy where necessary to improve clarity/readability and offer solutions to improve user experience
    • Verify trademarks, copyrights and legal information
    • Demonstrate the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple deadlines with unexpected rush requests
  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

     

    • 2-5 years of copy editing experience; marketing background preferred
    • Bachelor’s degree and/or professional certification in relevant field(s)
    • Excellent command of English; fluent in grammatical rules and commonly accepted usage (Associated Press Stylebook and/or Chicago Manual of Style)
    • Understanding of editing tools in Adobe Acrobat Pro and Microsoft Word & PowerPoint; experience with Microsoft Teams, Basecamp and/or Litmus software ideal
    • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a collaborative team
    • Exemplary completion of the proofreading examination as administered and evaluated by the Managing Copy Editor
