WESA Production Interns Position Overview: The program is somewhat structured, but flexible based on students schedules and desired learning opportunities. This intern will contribute the efforts toward daily in a live, one-hour show weekday mornings from 9 to 10 a.m. The internship also includes training sessions and mentorship by Confluence reporters, hosts, and editors. Major Responsibilities: * Networking with other media professionals in Pittsburgh * Pitching coverage ideas * Researching stories * Interviewing sources * Cutting tape for broadcast * Scripting host interviews * Creating social media * Writing Qualifications and Skills Required: * Knowledge of current events * Writing and research skills * Interest and some skill in audio editing software and recording * Coursework and/or experience in print or broadcast journalism Application Instructions: * Please email a cover letter, resume, and three published clips or writing samples to confluenceinterns@wesa.fm.
