That is why we created the Autism Spectrum Internship Program , which is designed to provide a valuable work experience to students on the Autism Spectrum who are passionate about software programming. As an intern, this program will allow you an opportunity to help create analytics software that turns data about customers, operations, financials, and more into insight. Program Details The internship will begin in February 2019 with each Intern attending an Autism Workforce Readiness Training, which prepares students to work in a corporate environment. SAS has partnered with TEACCH to offer this training. Students will need to commit up to 6 hours per week. This part of the program will last for up to 12 weeks. Immediately following the end of training, students will begin working full-time (40 hours per week) in one of the two internship positions outlined below. This part of the program will last for 12 weeks. Software Quality Tester: As a Software Quality Testing Intern, you will work closely with our development teams on testing processes, best practice standards, scripting, and development of testing tools. SAS products are known by our customers for their outstanding quality, which makes software testing paramount within our organization. We have teams of highly-talented engineers who work to detect issues early, resolve them quickly, and avoid future problems. Software Development: As a Software Development Intern, you will work on a project related to the design and development of SAS software for new and existing products. Fraud and Risk Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI are just a few of products being developed here at SAS. Requirements Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university seeking a degree in a technical course of study (Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Information Systems). Programming experience with Java, C, C++, or other object-oriented programming languages. Students must not be graduating prior to the beginning of the summer internship and be enrolled to return to school after the entire internship ends (graduating in or after December 2019). Reliable transportation to and from the Cary, NC SAS Office. Must be capable of working in a collaborative office environment. Able to participate in training up to 6 hours per week beginning in February 2019 and work full-time throughout the summer as a software development or testing intern from May 14, 2019 until August 9, 2019 Timeline Applications Open: October 2018 - December 2018 Interviews: November December 2018 on a rolling basis.
