WCHS/WVAH is looking for a Director for our newscast.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Perform any production duties as assigned including:

• Direct and TD any assigned newscasts and productions
• Code newscasts in concert with assigned producer for that show
• Check play out of all visual elements of the newscast before the newscast begins
• Coordinate commercials breaks during newscast with master control with precise countdowns
• Record studio segments to be played back at a later date
• Execute Breaking News or Breaking Weather cut ins as needed

REQUIREMENTS:        

• Experience directing and TDing newscasts
• Knowledge of production standards and equipment
• Working knowledge of INews is preferred
• Ability to clearly give direction to crew, while under pressure
• Strong typing and spelling skills
• The ability to read and write
• A college degree is preferred
• Must be able to handle high pressure situations calmly
