WTGS FOX 28 is looking for a Meteorologist for our 10PM News in Savannah. As a meteorologist, you will be responsible for the content of the weather cast on-air and on our digital platforms. You will issue warnings and alerts, produce graphics and maps, and report live during weather events. You must be able to utilize social media during severe weather, as well as write weather stories.

WTGS's newscast is produced, anchored and directed by its sister-station WPDE in Myrtle Beach, SC. The Savannah team consists of a news manager, digital producer, meteorologist, and four MMJs. The rest of the team is located in Myrtle Beach. The WTGS News at 10PM airs from 10PM-11PM Monday - Friday and 10PM-10:30PM on Saturday and Sunday. The weekend newscasts are handled by a WPDE meteorologist. 

DUTIES INCLUDE:

• Forecasting, producing, and presenting clear and concise weather casts- which tell a story and connect with viewers
• Developing content and graphics for on-air, web and social media
• Making public appearances on behalf of the station
• Working with producers to determine relevant weather content in breaking and everyday situations

REQUIREMENTS:

• A degree in meteorology or broadcast journalism is required
• 1-2 years delivering live weather at a commercial television station
• Must have a strong social presence
