    FINISHING/GLUER OPERATOR I

     

    Sets up and operates machine to glue or window folding; ensure that the Gluer is Operating in the safest possible manner; that the quality of the produced product exceeds our customer’s expectations and that performance goals are achieved. To perform this job successfully, an individual must obey all Safety procedures.  Individual must have excellent attendance, be able to work independently and be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

     

    JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Review job ticket.

    • Performs make ready as required which includes general set up of the gluer or window from feed to delivery

    • Run the job according to customers specifications

    • Quality control of all gluing aspects including carton alignment, glue adhesion, regular checks of the carton, etc.

    • Clean area around gluer.

    • Perform maintenance as required.

    • Deliver finished cartons to the case sealer

    • Ability to work in a fast paced environment while meeting deadlines safely and within quality specifications.

    • Ability to work 8, 10, or 12 hour shifts as required plus overtime as necessary

    • Verifies and communicates both product standards and work standards to crew to execute production.

    • Maintains equipment by performing minor maintenance, troubleshooting, calibrations, adjustments, repairs, and authorized modifications.

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    • KNOWLEDGE:  H.S. Education or equivalent, computer literate.

    • SKILLS:  Mechanical, communication.

    • ABILITIES: Good attendance, guide teams/processes, ability to work alone.

    • EXPERIENCE:   1-3 years related manufacturing experience and/or training

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Duties require standing (except breaks and lunch) throughout working shift for 8 to 12 hours.

    • Able to lift 10 lb. continuously and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lb.

    • Occasional climbing, stooping, bending and overhead reaching.

    • Frequent walking.

    • Fine hand manipulation.

    • Grasping and gripping.

    • Reading computer screen or other electronic devices.

    • Use of various hand and electrical tools and equipment

    • Color vision needed to detect inappropriate color of product.

    • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK 8 OR 12 HOUR SHIFTS PLUS OVERTIME AS REQUIRED

    • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK ANY SHIFT (DAYS/SWING/GRAVEYARD)

    • MUST BE ABLE TO WORK WEEKENDS AND HOLIDAYS AS NEEDED.
