OPIS IS HIRING A COOK/CULINARY SPECIALIST AT OPIS COQUINA CENTER IN ORMOND BEACH, FL TO WORK OUR PART TIME SHIFT. WE ARE SEEKING COOKS/CULINARY SPECIALISTS WHO ARE ABLE TO BE FLEXIBLE WITH THEIR SCHEDULE.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE FOR THE COOK/CULINARY SPECIALIST ROLE IS SOMEONE WHO IS A CARING INDIVIDUAL THAT IS  DEDICATED TO MAKING A POSITIVE IMPACT ON THEIR CUSTOMERS, AND WHO HAVE A DESIRE TO LEARN AND EXPAND PROFESSIONALLY IN A SUPPORTIVE, COLLABORATIVE ENVIRONMENT. THE COOK/CULINARY SPECIALIST SHOULD BE COMFORTABLE WORKING IN A PHYSICALLY DEMANDING ROLE AND IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT.   

THE CULINARY AIDE’S SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES WITH OPIS INCLUDE:

• Prepares and cooks a limited variety of food for customers
• Follows menus and production sheets according to menu in accordance with diet prescribed by attending Physician
• Handles food in accordance with sanitary regulations

THE CULINARY AIDE’S EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS ARE:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous food handling experience required
• Experience in a skilled nursing or healthcare setting preferred

Required Skills Required Experience

• High school degree or GED.
• Must be a primary mental health consumer (diagnosed as having a mental illness) and willing to share the personal experiences of recovery
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Work with people in a team setting.
• Demonstrate ability to respectfully motivate other consumers to act on their own behalf and to participate in activities
• Able to engage clients in one-on-one and in small groups
• Speak and read English
• Ability to move freely.
• Possess a Class “E” Driver’s License

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
