KEPR in Pasco, WA has an excellent opportunity for an experienced part-time News Assistant! Job responsibilities include: Editing video for daily news coverage, special projects, and sweep period pieces Taking in news feeds from news bureaus and various news organizations Collaborating with anchors, reporters, and producers on video elements of newscasts Meeting daily deadlines in a high-energy working environment Appropriately edits video for use on-air, taking extra care and attention to use only the best material and discarding mistakes or inappropriate material Effectively operates the Teleprompter as needed in a live, daily newscast to follow anchor delivery Archives news content for future use Assists with maintaining operational field camera gear Operates live gear for live remotes Re-fuel and wash news vehicles as requested or as time allows so that fleet is always at the ready Videotapes news stories in the field when requested General hours are Monday through Friday, 2-6 pm (may have to work occasional evenings) Job qualifications include: High School degree required Associates or bachelors degree in accounting, finance or equivalent, or enrolled towards such degree preferred Knowledge of non-linear editing technology is a plus, especially AVID Ability to work with a multitude of people and personalities while maintaining a professional work environment Minimum two (2) years relevant work experience in Accounting and Human Resources Working knowledge of internal control procedures, general ledger, payroll, and human resources Must be results oriented with strong accounting and financial skills Proficient in Excel and an Oracle background preferred Strong analytical, problem solving, and multi-tasking skills Ability to work in a team environment with various levels of staff Ability to maintain strict confidentiality Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Experience in the broadcast industry a plus!
