    As our research/clinical trials finance supervisor, you will function as an integral member of the finance team in overseeing the PIH Health’s research and clinical trials programs.  Your role will include supporting finance leadership in the day-to-day general ledger accounting activities of the research and clinical trials programs, including the billing and collection. In addition, your role may include a role in to day-to-day accounting activities for multiple entities across PIH Health’s integrated delivery system (IDS) including hospital operations and physician group operations, among others.  Functional work responsibilities include, but not limited to financial accounting and reporting, month-end close activities, budgeting, and tax activities of the organization. In addition to general accounting duties, this position may be tasked with external filings, such as monthly/quarterly filings with the clinical trials sponsor and/or granting agencies, and other internal and external reporting requirements.  Year-end responsibilities include interfacing with the independent accountants and audit schedule preparation, along with budgeting and forecasting. This position will require staff supervision. 

    Required Skills

    SPECIFIC SKILLS NEEDED

     

    • Demonstrate working knowledge of NIH and other industry sponsored contracts, grants and clinical trials administration
    • Ability to analyze and interpret data and effectively communicate findings and results
    • Ability to utilize company analytic tools and create meaningful reports for the senior leadership and other members of the organization
    • Highly organized, strong initiative, self-motivated, and the ability to multi-task
    • Strong technical accounting skills with the ability to perform accounting research and conclude on research performed
    • A team player and the ability to coach, mentor, and motivate staff
    • Knowledge of process improvement techniques and the ability to make recommendations in order to improve existing processes
    • Ability to integrate financial operations from different businesses (acquired) or expand current operations to accommodate organic growth of PIH Health
    • Familiarity with the federal regulations including OMB compliance supplement.

    Required Experience

    REQUIRED:

     

    • Bachelor of Arts or Science degree, preferably in accounting, or business related field such as finance, economics, or business administration.
    • Minimum of three years experience as an Accounting Supervisor or Manager, ideally with responsibility overseeing accounting and financial reporting.
    • MUST HAVE experience with Microsoft suite of products, including MS Access.

     

    PREFERRED:

     

    • CPA with three years experience at a major public accounting firm.
    • Work experience in the healthcare industry, specifically with clinical trials.
