    WLUK-TV GREEN BAY has a rare opening for an Evening News Anchor to join our experienced news team. Our anchors are journalists and newsroom leaders who not only deliver the news on our broadcast channels, but are dedicated to delivering information on all digital and social platforms. Our anchors are passionate story tellers who write and edit special reports and participate in strategic planning. WLUK produces 7 hours of news each day. This position will focus on our evening newscasts.  As newsroom leaders, anchors will assist in the writing of the evening newscasts and offer guidance to fellow newsroom colleagues. As a key member of the news team our anchors also interact with viewers by performing public appearances. 

     

    REQUIRED SKILLS:

     

    • The ability to multitask and deliver news under pressure in live situations in both newscasts and other programming
    • The ability to write news stories and edit video for special reports
    • Familiarity with iNews and AVID news software
    • The ability to post content to digital and social platforms

     

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

     

    • A college degree in journalism or a related Field
    • 2-5 years experience as a television news anchor
    • 2-5 years experience as a television news reporter

    • Must be able to develop a reasonable sales sense with the ability to predict product demand based on guest attendance and past experience
    • Must be a multi-tasker with the ability to provide service to more than one customer at a time
    • Must be able to complete cash transactions quickly and accurately
    • Must be organized with the ability to responsibly manage large sums of money without a register
    • Must possess a high attention to detail to identify and solve merchandise/money discrepancies
    • Must possess an excellent teamwork ethic, but must also be able to work independently without constant supervision
    • Must deal with guest confrontations professionally
    • Must be energetic, extroverted and self-motivated to reach selling potential
