Financial Analyst Thomson Reuters Accounting & Finance 1/4/2019 10:49:37 AM Ann Arbor, MI United States of America Job Description The Financial Analyst supports the Sr Director of Finance and partners with Tax Professionals team members to drive profitable growth, optimize return on capital, provide decision support, and help measure progress against key initiatives. Accountabilities: * Supports robust financial analysis and decision support for Tax Professionals * Supports all financial matters in Tax Professionals to drive profitable growth and optimize return on capital, working across boundaries * Responsible for analyzing financial performance with focus on financial drivers behind sales and revenue achievement * Helps measure progress against overall strategy and execution of the business plan with detailed understanding of any variances and remediation activities. * Provides decision support, including go-to-market and sales team support, partnership opportunities, pricing analytics and structuring, and financial risk management * Partners with Tax Professionals Finance team members; may be asked to deliver special projects or initiatives outside of Tax Professionals Key deliverables: * The role supports the Sr Director of Finance and Tax Professionals leaders with financial analysis and ad hoc projects * Implements and maintains robust metrics and measures related to revenue acceleration, sales growth and sales force effectiveness in partnership with Tax Professionals leaders and Commercial Excellence team * Partners with Sales, Proposition Management and Product Management to prepare pricing and financial analysis of potential new product packaging, sales promotions and other new initiatives * Maintains forecast alignment with Center of Excellence (COE) * Prepares deliverables and presentation materials related to Strategic plan, Annual Plan, and periodic management reporting for Tax Professionals * Prepares materials for business reviews and communication packages (e.g., townhalls, commercial meetings etc.) related to Tax Professionals * Measures impact and suggests corrective measures for continuous improvement and transformation initiatives in the business Skills and Experience: Education: College degree required and graduate degree or certification in business or finance (such as MBA or CPA) strongly preferred Experience: 2-4+ years of experience in a Finance role. Critical experience includes: The position requires strong partnership skills to work with others across the organization to help support senior management decisions; experience as financial decision support for an operating organization; knowledge of core accounting principles and their application.
