    WTTO, in Birmingham, AL, is seeking a Programming Assistant. In this role, you will assist the Regional Program Coordinator with the daily operations of the Programming department. The Programming Assistant will be responsible for overseeing that all programming scheduled for the station arrives in advance of air-dates and is properly checked for length, quality, and content. In addition, you will help the Program Director with the day to day operations of the Programming Department.


    • Check schedules/logs daily to ensure that the following day's programming is ready to air
    • Handle shipping needs in a timely and cost effective manner
    • Maintain an up to date inventory of all cash shows in house
    • Communicate to Program Director any problems that may come with missing shows on-air quality of the programming
    • Maintain a current list of movie and program distributors
    • Maintain control of the use of digital stock for satellite feeds, specials, and movies for the stations
    • Work on community projects, as needed, for the station(s)
    • Work as a back-up for Program Director/Program Assistant (Part-Time) when needed
    • Other duties assigned as needed


    • Detail-oriented
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Strong computer skills


    • Production experience is preferred, but not required
    • A communications degree in TV or radio broadcasting is preferred
