Job Description

WHAT YOU'LL DO: As a software engineer at Twitter, you will help us build, scale and maintain the consumer product we have, which has a direct impact on the lives of our users and the success of our business. To be successful you will have to partner closely with Product, Design, Research, Data Science, and other engineers to plan, implement, and validate solutions to user problems.

• We have some great product platforms that we built over the years to ease the product development.
• We are very experiment driven and have several experiments in flight at any point of time.

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE:

• You should be passionate about experimentation and understanding user behavior and needs
• You can jump into different code bases and learn quickly
• You can turn product requirements into concrete engineering plans
• You can communicate effectively with cross functional partners (Product, Design, Research, Data Science)

REQUIREMENTS: We are currently looking for candidates at multiple levels, from SWE2 with a BS or MS in Computer Science (or related field)  and 2 years of work experience to Sr level candidates with 5+ years of experience.

• Experience with developing backend services
• Familiarity with at least one mainstream programming language
• Experience with building and shipping products 
• Experience running online experiments

DESIRED (NOT REQUIRED):

• Experience with building consumer facing product
• Experience with A/B Testing and product experimentation
• Experience with Scala
• Experience with Hadoop or other MapReduce-based architectures
• Experience with building machine learning applications
• Experience with building large-scale distributed backend services
• Experience leading, growing and mentoring other engineers.
