    Job Description

    We’re looking for a talented Technical Instructor to join the Twitter University team to help the team scale the engineering onboarding and continued education at Twitter. In addition to teaching classes, University staff mentor content matter experts from across the org to provide classes in their areas of expertise and assist in curriculum development and maintenance, classroom instruction, and developing offline educational resources. Popular classes currently offered through University include programming languages (Python, Scala), microservice development (Finatra), internal technologies, Machine Learning, Data Science, and classes about various parts of the Twitter platform and technology stack. 

    Successful in Technical / Software Development roles: You are a seasoned software developer or data scientist. Enjoy writing and compiling code. You’ve spent time working on building products in multiple languages and technologies. Due to your passion for the technology you frequently became the team mentor or the go-to code reviewer. You enjoy learning new and different languages, paradigms, and tech stacks but also have a favorite area of technology where you are recognized by your peers as an expert due to your thorough and comprehensive knowledge and skill.

    Passionate about technical training: You should have experience with designing on-demand and remote-friendly technical training. You are enthusiastic about curriculum development and takes an experiential learning approach in designing learning solutions that scale across multiple modalities. You have experience releasing learning products to global technical audiences. You should have previous successful experience conducting technical training/mentoring for engineers. You should be outstanding at understanding and explaining new technologies and frameworks to others, communicate well, learn quickly, and be able to write and work with sample code in a variety of programming languages.

    Qualifications 

    • BS/BA or related practical working experience.

    • 3yrs experience in the industry as a software engineer or data scientist or other technical roles.

    • Proficiency with common software development tools and skills: git, bash, plain text markup languages, scripting languages.

    • 2+ years of experience conducting technical training or curriculum development

    • Knowledge of curriculum design methodologies. 

    • Experience with Git and GitHub.

    • Familiarity with adult learning principles.
