    Job Description

    TWITTER IS LOOKING FOR AN EXPERIENCED STRATEGY & OPERATIONS ASSOCIATE TO DESIGN, DRIVE AND DELIVER CENTRAL SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES THAT WILL ENABLE OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE IN THE EXECUTION OF STRATEGY, ACCOUNTABILITY AND COLLABORATION ACROSS TWITTER WITH A SIGNIFICANT FOCUS ON OUR TWITTER’S PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ORGANIZATION (ENGINEERING, PRODUCT, DESIGN, AND RESEARCH).

    THE OPERATIONAL EFFECTIVENESS TEAM IS A NEW AND UNIQUE ROLE. YOU’LL BE A PART OF A SMALL TEAM TASKED WITH DRIVING AND DELIVERING BEST-IN-CLASS CENTRAL SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES. YOU WILL BE THE GLUE THAT HOLDS EVERYTHING TOGETHER. WE WORK HORIZONTALLY WITH ENGINEERING, PRODUCT, DESIGN, AND OPERATIONS AND ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE OVERALL PLAN, EXECUTION, AND DELIVERY OF CENTRAL PROCESSES OR MAJOR CROSS FUNCTIONAL INITIATIVES. OUR GOAL IS TO ENABLE THE ENTIRE ORGANIZATION TO BENEFIT FROM OPERATIONAL EXCELLENCE, INCREASE CONFIDENCE IN THE EXECUTION OF STRATEGY, DRIVE ACCOUNTABILITY, AND IMPROVE COLLABORATION. KEY EXAMPLES OF CENTRAL SYSTEMS AND PROCESSES INCLUDE:

     

    • CENTRAL PROCESSES: COMPANY WIDE PLANNING, INVESTMENT FORECASTING, HEADCOUNT TRACKING

    • CENTRAL SYSTEMS: ROADMAPPING, PROJECT TRACKING, RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, OKRS TRACKING

    THE IDEAL CANDIDATE HAS EXPERIENCE WORKING CLOSELY WITH A VARIETY OF CROSS-FUNCTIONAL SPECIALISTS AND LEADERS. HAS A HIGH LEVEL OF BUSINESS SENSE, SUPER-HUMAN PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS, THE ABILITY TO WORK COLLABORATIVELY ACROSS TEAMS AND ORGANIZATIONS UNDERGOING LARGE-SCALE CHANGE.

    • EXCELLENT ANALYTICAL, STRATEGIC CONCEPTUAL THINKING AND CONSULTING SKILLS TO DRIVE ENTERPRISE WIDE CHANGE.

    • ABILITY TO MANAGE MULTIPLE PROJECTS AND COMPETING PRIORITIES.

    • DEMONSTRATED SUCCESS LEADING SOFTWARE IMPLEMENTATION EFFORTS AND INITIATIVES THAT SPAN THE IT ORGANIZATION, PARTNERING WITH OTHER SUPPORT ORGANIZATIONS AND CUSTOMERS, MEANT TO DRIVE CONSISTENCY AND SCALABILITY.

     

    WHAT YOU’LL DO

    AS A PART OF YOUR WORK ON CENTRAL PROCESSES AND SYSTEMS, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE:

     

    • IMPLEMENT TOOLING TO SUPPORT THE OVERALL PLANNING PROCESS FOR ENGINEERING, PRODUCT, DESIGN & RESEARCH (EPDR) TEAMS, INCLUDING PRODUCT ROADMAPS, GOAL SETTING, AND INVESTMENT PLANNING.

    • REPRESENT EXPERIENCE AS KEY LIAISON IN COORDINATING WITH OTHER INTERNAL PLANNING FUNCTIONS (E.G. FINANCE, HR, ETC.).

    • DEVELOP CONTENT AND DRIVE COMMUNICATION ACROSS EPDR AND THE REST OF THE COMPANY, COMMUNICATING REGULAR OPERATIONAL UPDATES, KEY RESULTS, AND CONSOLIDATING STRATEGIC PLANS FOR REVIEW WITH THE TWITTER EXECUTIVE TEAM AND THE BOARD.

    • LEAD SHORT-TERM DEEP DIVES AND CROSS-FUNCTIONAL PROJECT TEAMS TO STRUCTURE AND EXECUTE ANALYSES NEEDED TO DEVELOP RECOMMENDATIONS.

    • FUNCTION AS A FRONTLINE BUSINESS PROCESS RESOURCE FOR “BEST PRACTICES” AND INFORMAL CUSTOMER QUESTIONS IN SUPPORT OF TWITTER’S DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND TOOLING STRATEGY

    • MAINTAIN CURRENT FUNCTIONAL AND TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE OF TWITTER IT SUPPORTED SERVICES, APPLICATIONS, AND HARDWARE

    • BRING KEY INSIGHTS AND TRUSTED INDEPENDENT ADVICE.

     

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • BA DEGREE IN A RELATED FIELD OR RELEVANT INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

    • 3-5+ YEARS OF EXPERIENCE PREFERABLY IN BUSINESS OR TECHNICAL STRATEGY AND PLANNING

    • 2+ YEARS EXPERIENCE AS AN IMPLEMENTATION MANAGER, IT PROJECT/PROGRAM MANAGER, OR SIMILAR

    • KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE WITH DATA ANALYTICS & VISUALIZATION, ATLASSIAN TOOLS, AND PROJECT MANAGEMENT APPLICATIONS

    • WEST COAST TIME ZONE PREFERRED

    • KNOWLEDGE OF IT INFRASTRUCTURE TECHNOLOGIES AND CONCEPTS

    • EXCELLENT ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND PROCESS DISCIPLINE

    • SELF-MOTIVATED AND ABILITY TO WORK IN A FAST-PACED ENVIRONMENT

    • EXCELLENT VERBAL & WRITTEN COMMUNICATION SKILLS
