This role will be studying in a variety of domains: transportation, public health, finance, and government performance. Youll pair with, and support, product designers, helping them instrument research in their product area. Youll help product leadership to strategically plan roadmaps based on data. Lastly, youll be disseminating artifacts, championing for the public servants we dedicate our company attention to. If that excites you, then youre in the right place! -What youll be doing -Define and drive both qualitative as well as quantitative user data gathering efforts to effectively inform planning and design across product teams. -Analyze instrumentation to ensure experiences are mapped and traced throughout the product interfaces. -Lead the UX Research discipline and team while interacting will several levels of the company, including marketing, education, sales, and product management. -Maintain our research roadmap and cadence of sustainable research findings. -Drive the process of defining a set of satisfaction/pulse check criteria to measure effectiveness, satisfaction and engagement of and with Socrata products. -Evolve the Socrata personas, journeys, and user interactions over time. -Partner with Voice of the Customer and usability and customer advisory board cycles. -Inspire the company at all levels to gather human-centered data and to act from it -Educate the company on research methods. -Mentor product design team members around effective practices and documentation -Make the case for additional UX Research resources as needed. -You have -A Masters degree in one of these disciplines: Human Centered Design, Human Computer Interaction, Psychology, or something quite similar, with hands-on internship experience OR a Bachelors degree in a similar discipline with 3 years of research experience. -Some experience conducting effective user research by applying a broad range of methodologies including in-person and remote usability testing, site visits, paper prototype testing, concept testing, survey design, diary studies, and contextual inquiries. -Exceptional behavioral data-collection and analysis skills, e.g., planning, conducting, and analyzing all kinds of user data. -A love for diving into complex research problems and analytics data. -Experience working closely with UX Design, Product, and Engineering teams on gathering and implementation of research recommendations. -Experience working in an agile development environment is considered a big plus. -Experience with contextual inquiry, interviewing, and building mental models -Examples of leading strategic research with identified outcomes.
