Strategy for Winning: Our office consists of people who are passionate, dedicated and innovative people. The Athlete Health and Performance Coordinator is responsible for coordinating medical care and ensuring that all athlete medical requirements and licenses are obtained in a timely manner for each event. This position entails significant interaction with athletes, athlete managers and various medical providers to ensure appropriate medical care and that all medical and licensing requirements are in place for each event. Responsibilities: Coordinates all aspects of medical care for athletes, both in and out of competition, including scheduling appointments, coordination of efforts with individual service providers and insurance companies. Reviews athlete records to determine what requirements the athlete is not currently compliant with and implements steps to alleviate the deficit. Prepares letter to athletes and their managers regarding deficiencies, provides athletes and managers with documents that require completion, and schedules medical appointments for licensing requirements. Receives and reviews confidential medical records and communicates with the Vice President, Athlete Health & Performance for submittal to appropriate state athletic commission. Updates and verifies all information is complete and accurate for athlete and cornerman (seconds) licensing and athlete deductions in database. Assists Vice President, Athlete Health & Performance with attention to athlete injuries and last minute details and aspects of licensing. Obtains necessary information from athletes and maintains information according to company policy and HIPAA regulations. For assigned events, researches and identifies appropriate Trauma hospitals in the city of each event in advance of the event. Contacts EMT services in advance of the event and discusses UFC service requirements, setup, availability, etc. Attends events and meets with state athletic commission to assist with all aspects of transport and treatment of injured athletes as scheduled. Alternates events with other team members. Routinely follows up with assigned athletes and reports the status of athletes medical condition to appropriate staff. Works with the states athletic commission to lift athletes medical suspensions. Other related duties as assigned. Skills and Experience: Associates degree in healthcare field preferred. 2-3 years of experience in Medical Administration field desired. Knowledge and/or education pertaining to medical terminology. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal form. Ability to establish and maintain effective internal and external working relationships. Excellent organization skills and attention to detail. Ability to maintain discretion and confidential information. Intermediate skills with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook and ability to learn other basic computer programs. Ability to prioritize and multi-task, and handle various competing activities and interest simultaneously. Bilingual Preferred. Availability to travel domestically and internationally when needed.
