    WSYX/WTTE, in Columbus, Ohio, has an exciting opportunity for a full-time News Video Operations Manager to lead our staff of TV News Videographers and Editors.

     

    We are looking for a motivated and decisive leader who can inspire excellence from our team of news videographers and editors. Our Operations Manager will hire, train, lead, and coach a team of creative videographers and editors. This position also oversees a large fleet of news cars and ENG live trucks maintaining and coordination maintenance with area repair shops. Along with daily news operations, the News Video Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the technical set ups of special projects such as Town Halls and remote newscasts. 

     

    JOB REQUIREMENTS: 

     

    • Knowledge and experience with television news storytelling and technical knowledge of ENG vehicles
    • Strong editing skills
    • The ability to work with reporters and Multimedia Journalists on storytelling and writing
    • Must have 2-5 years of management experience
    • At least 3-5 years of experience as a TV news videographer crafting highly creative news stories
    • Must be professional, organized, and highly motivated news manager to succeed in this important leadership role
    • A solid understanding of technical operations and news gathering workflows is critical to the success of this position
    • Must be a forward thinking leader that explores new technologies and how they can be used to push the news operation forward
    • Make recommendations to company leadership for operational and capital budget planning
    • Must be able purchase the right gear that will keep the news operation competitive and operating at the best national standards
    • Must be able to provide project management, from vision casting to implementation of ideas

     

    ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

     

    • Must have and maintain a good driving record and a valid driver's license at all times

    • Ability to travel freely throughout the assigned market

    • Understanding of our business, marketing materials and business jargon,
    • The ability to differentiate our products/services and unique value versus other options.
    • Creates and executes programs and services to maintain and expand existing physician case volumes in our facilities
    • Able to interpret and disseminate information, including key information about changes in the marketplace and physician patterns
    • Create and review InfoSource reports for respective facilities on a regular basis.
    • Utilize weekly reports to assist in viewing recent utilization, establish trends, and assess what additional opportunity exists.
    • Establish a baseline of casesper facility and per physician.
    • Measure growth of cases on a quarterly basis, either on quarter over quarter growth, or year over year growth.
