    JOB SUMMARY

    Prepare monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and occasional transaction tax returns along with substantial supporting documentation of varying degrees of complexity (sales tax, consumer’s use tax, gross receipts tax, TPT, Excise Tax, Franchise).

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Perform monthly upload to update state and local tax rate tables.
    • Research taxability and exemption issues raised by customers and employees.
    • Approve tax adjustments and tax-related corrections on customer invoices.
    • Maintain files of state registration licenses; submit renewals upon license expiration dates.
    • Maintain state and local tax exemption certificates
    • Coordinate with state and local jurisdictions on sales tax audit requirements.
    • Initiate sales tax credit refund applications to state and/or local multi-tax jurisdiction authorities.
    • Resolving compliance issues with taxing authorities

     

     

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong problem solving skills and computer skills, in-depth knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.

    • Oral and written communication skills with excellent math skills are needed to qualify for this position.

    • Ability to communicate effectively.

    • Ability to be a team player is a must!

     

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of multiple state sales tax rules and regulations.

  • Qualifications
    • Five years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to manage a machine shop, cost effectively, in a rapid-paced operation.
    • Up-to-date manufacturing practices and methods (CNC, additive manufacturing).
    • Demonstrated knowledge of materials to include metals, plastics, etc.
    • Good written and verbal communication skills.
    • Clearly and comfortably delegates both routine and important tasks and decisions. Broadly shares both responsibility and accountability.
    • Can marshal resources (people, materials, support) to get things done. Can orchestrate multiple activities at once to accomplish a goal. Uses resources effectively and efficiently. Keeps information organized.
    • Minimum requirement is a 2-year technical degree in related field; a 4-year degree is desired or equivalent experience.
