SUMMARY:
Retail team members support all operations in the merchandise division by providing an efficient, friendly, memorable shopping experience for guests in the Gift Shop and throughout the Aquarium.

WHAT YOU’D BE DOING:
- Greet guest as they enter the Gift Shop and suggest items to enhance their shopping experience
- Provide fast and friendly service at the cash register at all times as well as efficient and accurate use of the system
- Cleaning all areas in department
- Providing visual merchandising support, stocking, and tagging of merchandise
- Participate in activities outside of the Gift Shop including cashier sales at kiosks, performing annual inventory, and working at festival events for the Aquarium

Required Skills
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Successful completion of pre-employment drug screening and background check
- Allergies related to animals or plants, which might interfere with ability to work, must be controlled by medications or protective equipment.
- Ability to remain on feet for long periods of time, climb stairs, bend and stoop, walk long distances
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Required Experience
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
- High School Diploma
- 6 months to 1 year customer service experience preferred
- Friendly, outgoing, and proactive individual
- Cash handling experience
- Ability to work weekends and holidays with occasional evenings
