    POSITION SUMMARY:

    Reporting to the Contractor Sales Division Vice President, the Director of Sales is responsible for bringing purpose and a plan of action for customer accounts.  The role will manage a team of Sales professionals that sell products for various manufacturers or distributors to business establishments.

     

    This position works closely with and builds strong relationships with customers, partners, and cross functional teams.  As a member of the sales leadership team, the incumbent is expected to manage their book of business and make effective decisions that support sustainable growth.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Develop self and others – assign and accept challenging assignments to expand professional knowledge and capabilities of self and others
    • Embody personal leadership qualities that are in line with our cultural 10 Principles to drive behavior and language that promotes respect and accountability
    • Ensure Sales team makes consistent sales calls on assigned accounts
    • Reviews performance of the Sales team as it relates to overall sales goals
    • Survey new potential account and existing account on a regular basis
    • Develop strong customer and vendor relationships
    • Ability to partner and work cross functional with internal support teams
    • Analyze changes in the market conditions as they apply to territory
    • Develop broad product knowledge to assist customer with product application
    • Develop annual budget and manage overall department P&L
    • Excellent organizational, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
    • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw conclusions

     

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: 

    • Electrical, Industrial and/or distribution experience preferred but not required
    • Bachelor's degree (B.A or B.S.) from a 4-year college or University
    • 10+ years' in managing professionals, preferably in Sales Management; or
    • Equivalent combination of education and experience.

    • Drive continual improvement through ongoing training and mentoring
    • Possess the attitude of wanting to learn, teach and lead
    • Ability to establish strong working relationships with co-workers and other leaders
    • Strong planning, execution, and analytical skills
    • Ability to identify and communicate customer financial problems to Upper Management
    • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills
    • Must possess excellent customer service skills
    • Ability to travel locally and nationally when required
    • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary business information
