Post Production Summer Intern About the Post-Production Team: The post production team edits and designs for original series on the Decades Television network, including Through the Decades daily documentary program, Across the Decades daily interstitials and Decades Presents: 1968 a 12-part special series looking back on the pivotal year in American History 50 years later. About Through the Decades ?Through the Decades? is an original a daily news documentary program illustrating how television has captured historically significant events throughout history. This show serves as the signature programming for the digital network, Decades TV. Hosted by anchorman Bill Kurtis, alongside Kerry Sayers and Ellee Pai Hong, Through the Decades utilizes the archives of CBS News and Entertainment Tonight, complemented by original production to craft a unique television experience that captures the voices and events of the past through the perspective of our present. General Job Description: From the first day, interns are given real-world, hands-on responsibilities. Working alongside a dynamic post-production staff, interns do substantial work in the world of busy, fluid daily production. Interns are treated as professionals and given in-depth learning opportunities for those who want to see what producing daily television really means. Overview: This internship will support the program and post production staff. Intern duties will rotate between video editing and graphic departments to help organize, assist and create original material. Interns report to heads of each department respectively. Intern will work up to 20 hours per week. All interns are paid. Weigel Broadcasting Co. does not subsidize housing. Duties/Responsibilities: * Organize Graphic and Edit Projects * Coordinate between editors, writers, graphics team and producers * Complete short video edits for Through the Decades show and studio production * Research and prep video and graphic assets within in-house archive and utilizing third party archives * Deliver finished projects, images and motion graphics by established deadlines. Requirements: * Passion for visual storytelling * Must be organized and detail oriented * Knowledge of the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite * Knowledge of Premiere and basic editing fundamentals * Knowledge of basic animation fundamentals * Understanding of motion graphics techniques using Adobe After Effects CC * Masking/Rotoscoping in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects to isolate subjects in photos/video * Creating motion graphics with pre-made templates in After Effects * Video editing experience a plus * Knowledge of iNews and Grass Valley?s Digital Asset Management System, Stratus is a plus * Flexible schedule to meet the demands and rigor of a network television production facility.
