    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a commercial/industrial product manager who will be a leader supporting the

    sales team generating requirements, specifications, and a product roadmap to continue to lead the industrial lithium battery market.

    The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, creative, resourceful technical problem solver, highly self-motivated, and have a strong background in one or more of the mechanical, electrical, or software development areas with knowledge of lithium-ion battery technology. They should be capable of reading mechanical drawings and/or electrical schematics, reviewing CAD files (SolidWorks), reviewing analysis results, and communicating technical topics to engineers and customers.

    This is a fast-paced and challenging position that requires someone who is confident in their ability to lead, communicate, and make well-reasoned decisions under tight deadlines. The candidate’s ability to demonstrate strong interpersonal and capable of rapidly integrating technological capabilities with application requirements.

     

    Essential/Key Functions:

    •  Work with customers, distribution, sales, service, supply chain, operations and engineering interface and interact with all aspects of the business to take develop and execute a product strategy to continue to be a market leader
    • Work with business development to assist in understanding the markets pain points and needs, and developing a product that addresses the needs of the market
    • Lead, coordinate, review, and evaluate product requirements in terms of specifications, cost

      targets, features, operational needs, environmental requirements

    • Work with project stakeholders and end-users to elicit, understand, analyze, and document the requirements for a system

    • Investigate “parent” requirements and generate “child” requirements
    • Perform requirements traceability
    • Conduct regular status and coordination meetings both internally and with customers
    • Review customer-specific requirements, develop market broad systems and product family architectures and roadmaps, create/derive requirements, iterate and make product trade off decisions based on bottlenecks, costs, schedules, new technical learnings, customer feedback

    •  Perform market analysis such as competitive market pricing, features, and incorporate into the consideration of the requirements
    • Assist in marketing and sales material development
    • Support new business development with commercial and industrial motive customers including product requirements, timing, and budgets
    • Responsible for the products ability to meet the customer's needs through out the product life

      cycle

    • Participate in cell selection, pack assembly, and battery testing with other members of the

      organization

    • Articulate and apply the companies advanced technologies, product features, and benefits to

      customers

    • Provide technical support and new product introduction handoffs to the sales organization
    • Identify relevant technical issues that pertain to individual customer applications; elevate

      product issues within the organization and address via corrective preventative action reports

    • Provide solutions to customer’s needs that match with the company’s current and future product offerings

       

      Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

    • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or another technical field required
    • 5+ years of experience in high tech product development
    • A lithium-Ion battery or Lift Truck experience (desired but not required)
    • Excellent communication, creative technical problem solving, and interpersonal skills
    • Strong leadership, organizational, and motivational skills required
    • Proficient in MS Office, Outlook, Project
    • Able to create and manage requirements; manage a project to closure
    • Self-motivated individual comfortable making challenging decisions and leading a fast-paced

      development

    • Experience in a system’s engineer role
    • Experience in architectural frameworks and development
    • Knowledge in FMEAs, DVP&Rs, and sequence/context diagrams
    • Knowledge in Life Cycle Management, APQP, and PPAP processes
    • Knowledge of Lithium-Ion batteries, Electronics, or Electrical components a plus
    • Up to 20% travel
