  • Responsibilities

     

    Job Summary:

    Responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing purchasing concepts across ’plants; and, to ensure that the supply of materials meet the production schedule and minimum stock levels toensure operational and production continuity. Able to deliver efficient, effective and flexible solutions to meet production requirements. Maintains strong relationships both internally and externally to ensure supply of materials meets requirements.

     

    Essential/Key Functions:

    • Read and comprehend instructions and follow established procedures
    • Monitors MRP for exception messages (place order, expedite order, excess material) and issue

      purchase orders to support production as appropriate.

    • Plan and execute the material planning, purchasing, associated with assigned commodities or

      materials in support of operations for on-time, quality delivery of work

    • Review and expedite critical material orders
    • Schedule and control the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and

      minimum stock levels.

    • Issue RFQ’s and manage negotiations and P.O. placement for miscellaneous production material
    • Expected travel ~10-%.

     

    Minimum (Required) Qualifications:

    Education and Experience

    • 2 - 5 years purchasing experience
    • Minimum Associate of Business Degree (combination of work experience and formal education is acceptable) Bachelor of Business Administration Degree (preferred)
    • Experience purchasing to fulfill contracts to which FAR and DFAR apply
    • Experience managing supplier contracts/purchases involving a DPAS rating.
    • Understanding of ITAR compliance.

    • Must be US Citizen or Registered Resident Alien (Government Contract Requirement)
    • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Must be skilled in the art of negotiation. Must have above average verbal and written skills.
    • Must also have proficient skills in use of various computer programs such as Microsoft Word,
    • Excel Spreadsheet, PowerPoint. This position also requires excellent organizational skills, and ability to work effectively with employees at all levels of the company. Must also understand supply management, logistics and financial systems.
