With our technical capabilities, the Medication Management Solutions (MMS) team are able to manage multiple systems and our operational capabilities enable us to have medications available when and where needed, reducing inefficiency and waste for nursing and pharmacy teams.

    PROGRAM OBJECTIVE/SCOPE

    The summer internship program within Global Customer Service (GCS) at BD provides the student with an opportunity to partner with peers, senior personnel, and supervisors who will provide informal mentoring and coaching towards success. Students will have the opportunity to be exposed to Global Support Operations and Customer Experience. Selected students may work within cross-functional or interdisciplinary teams and may have multiple internal partners and customers.

    Each intern will have an individual project focused on analytics, process improvement, or technical skills and the opportunity to develop/enhance operations and support expertise. Through our summer internship, students develop an extensive professional network, learn how to work in a professional environment, develop skills related to customer support and crafting excellent customer experiences through operational rigor, and deliver business presentations showcasing their work. The summer internship program is a great opportunity to gain exposure to the medical device industry and BD's culture.

    We are recruiting for a highly driven undergraduate/graduate students from a variety of degree backgrounds - ranging from business, science, or technical based degrees with a passion for customer centric results and the medical device industry.

    ABOUT THE ROLE:

    As a Service and Technical Support Intern within BD Global Customer Services, you will have the opportunity to work with the global Technical Support Customer (TSC) support team and their leadership team. This internship can be located in SAN DIEGO, CA, SAN ANTONIO, TX OR REMOTE.

    In this role, the intern will:

    • Perform analysis of existing workflows and processes to ensure adherence
    • Identify opportunities for improvement and develop/enrich tools and processes to operationalize successes.
    • Automate and streamline existing manual reports related to customer accounts
    • Provide user experience updates for account management-related initiatives
    • Partner with technical support account management teams to maintain relationships with customers
    • Identify, track, and meet key performance indicators

    QUALIFICATIONS

    REQUIRED:

    • Rising sophomore, rising junior, or rising senior (graduation dates of December 2022, June 2023, December 2023, or June 2024) pursuing a Bachelors degree
    • Pursuing a degree in Business & Data Analytics, Marketing Analytics, Operations, Information Systems, or other related
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPoint
    • May require analytics skills in Excel, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, R, or other related
    • Ability to work 40 hours per week for the duration of the 12-week summer internship period.

    • Excellent at written and verbal communication
    • Intellectual curiosity and highly self-motivated
    • Excited by working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
    • Ability to approach the role with a can-do, team-player attitude
    • Prior internship/co-op experience
    • Ability to work well on a team
