    Cantel Medical is a leading provider of infection prevention products and services in the healthcare market, specializing in the following operating units:

    • Endoscopy (This business is known as Medivators) - Endoscopy procedure disposables and medical device reprocessing systems;
    • Water purification and filtration - Water purification systems for dialysis facilities;
    • Healthcare Disposables - Single-use, infection prevention products used primarily in the dental market.

    Cantel's Innovations team is responsible for evaluating and expanding Cantel’s understanding of technologies, therapies, regulations, research, and other market drivers to identify new, unique, market-defining opportunities that will be key to the company's future business.

    The Innovations Team intern will be responsible for supporting Innovations team members with respect to the initial evaluation of new ideas and product concepts, and identification of customer problems / needs.

    The ideal candidate will have an interest in applying bleeding edge technology within a clinical healthcare environment and be responsible for the following activities:

    • Research & Feasibility Study (literature review, experiment with technology such as voice control, photonics, materials research, machine learning, UI/UX with augmented/virtual reality, advanced 3D printing etc. and applications of new technologies to current products/service);
    • Design/prototyping/fabrication - (using prototyping technology such as 3D printers, mills/lathes, and prototyping boards/computers such as Arduinos / Rasberry Pis);
    • Testing (executing protocols, assisting R&D efforts);
    • Documentation (protocol drafting, technology review presentation/report, etc.);
    • Clinical visits (interactions with physicians, nurses, and technicians, taking notes during procedure).

  • Qualifications

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • The ideal candidate will have finished an undergrad or master’s degree, and is looking to gain industry experience before pursuing further education (e.g. graduate or professional school).
    • Engineering majors preferred, but the position is open to all STEM candidates.

    He/she will be:

    • Coachable / receptive to feedback;
    • T-shaped (deep skills in one particular domain with a variety of interests);
    • Proactive / self-directed / good at taking initiative;
    • Open to various types of projects, technology and disciplines outside of one’s specialization and/or comfort zone.

    He/she will have soft skills, such as:

    This position is considered a 1-2 year contract and does not offer benefits.
